The Sol y Mar Restaurant, 50 meters from the ocean, is the perfect place to satisfy your hunger after relaxing on the beach. Despite the isolation and relative remoteness of our location, our menu offers surprising variety. We emphasize fresh, tropical ingredients and local seafood. The famous fishburger (snapper, snook, or dorado filets) cannot be beat.

Our chefs are professionally trained. The menu features homemade bread, tropical fruit shakes, and cocktails, not to mention icy cold beer and our famous Cheeseburgers in Paradise. The dinner menu includes Jumbo Shrimp and Fish of the Day, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Beef Tenderloin, and Pasta dishes. For seafood and meats, various sauces are available (Thai, Mexican, and Classic Flavors).

During the season, there are nightly specials, including the ever-popular Barbecue Night with Colossal Pork Ribs, Fresh Tuna Steaks, Kebabs, and more. The bar is a great place to meet the local Ticos (some of whom speak English), local gringos and visitors. It presents a great opportunity to learn about the area and socialize over icy cold refreshments. The Sol y Mar is known for hosting many local celebrations and fiestas. Our oceanfront setting is an excellent location to view dramatic sunsets that will remain with you a lifetime

The Sol y Mar is a lively meeting place – enjoy a game of paddle ball on our beach (an 80 – 100 meter wide playing field); boogie board; or play volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, or beach golf. You can also take advantage of our library/book exchange.
